Gyproc® Glass Fiber Mesh

Saint-Gobain Gyproc® Glass Fiber Mesh provides excellent protection against cracks at joints and conduits. It is designed to reinforce areas where hairline cracks and disjoints may occur, helping improve the durability and stability of plastered surfaces.

It is ideal for use in beam and column joints, plumbing and electrical work chasing areas, areas with thin plaster, and door and window joints.

It’s a Woven mesh coated with PVC. Fiberglass screening is Flexible, economical and easy to install screening. It will not crease, dent, or unravel. Fiberglass mesh is also more opaque than aluminium mesh, allowing for greater visibility. Its attractive appearance and easy installation allow for a wide variety of applications—including windows, doors, porches, gazebos and screen rooms—while maintaining an appropriate level of air transfer. Fiberglass is the most commonly used screening for new construction.

How to Apply

1. Prepare the Surface
Clean the surface thoroughly and remove debris and oil. Ensure chasing areas are completely filled.

2. Apply the First Base Coat
Apply the first layer of base coat over the entire surface.

3. Install the Mesh
Press the mesh into the first layer of base coat, starting from the centre and working towards the sides.

4. Apply the Second Coat
Apply the remaining base coat, keeping the mesh sandwiched between the two coats.

5. Apply the Upper Coat
Apply at least 3 mm of upper coat material over the base coat.
